PENTNEY ABBEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - Karina & Matthew

Some weddings just stick with you—and Karina and Matthew’s day at Pentney Abbey in Norfolk is one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. Elegant, heartfelt, full of energy and just the right amount of chaos... it was everything a wedding should be.

As a Norfolk Wedding Photographer, I get to see a lot of beautiful venues, but Pentney Abbey has this incredible mix of history, charm, and peaceful countryside vibes that make it such a special place to say “I do.” And for Karina and Matthew? It was love at first sight.

Romance, Style & a Whole Lot of Energy

The vibe of the day was effortlessly elegant—classic, romantic and timeless with a sleek black-tie dress code that suited the venue perfectly. Karina looked absolutely incredible in her Freda Bennet gown from Morgan Davies Bridal, and her whole look—thanks to the incredibly talented Stephanie Alexandra Bridal—was effortless: soft, timeless, and glowing.

Matthew brought his own unique flair to the day too. He performs in the West End, and you could feel that performance energy in every part of the celebration. But it never felt over-rehearsed or staged—it was just full of joy, laughter, and serious good vibes.

Thoughtful Touches & Unscripted Magic

One of the things I loved most about their day was how personal it felt. Everywhere you looked, there were thoughtful touches that made guests feel so looked after—from custom-printed newspapers with stories and little details about the couple, to handwritten notes for every single guest waiting at their place setting. It was such a beautiful way to say, “you matter to us.”

And then there was the veil moment. During the ceremony, just as Karina was saying her vows, the wind picked up and whoosh—off went the veil! For a split second, everyone froze—then one of the groomsmen stepped up to his duties and caught it mid-air. These unplanned little moments? They're the ones that stay with you forever.

The Team Behind the Magic

They pulled together a cracking team of suppliers who made the day run like a dream. The ceremony had the most beautiful soundtrack, thanks to Will Scott Guitarist, and the florals from Romeo & Succulent were soft, romantic, and full of texture—perfectly complementing the old stonework of the abbey.

Daniel Bruce Films was there capturing all the emotion and movement behind the scenes (and I know his film is incredible). As the night started to draw in, the band from Function Republic brought the energy way up—and Karina and Matthew’s first dance? Let’s just say, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Think West End meets wedding party, and you’ll be halfway there.

Norfolk at Its Finest

Karina and Matthew’s wedding reminded me of everything I love about being a Norfolk Wedding Photographer. There’s something about this part of the world—wide skies, peaceful countryside, and venues like Pentney Abbey that feel like they’ve been waiting for love stories like this to unfold.

To Karina and Matthew—thank you for letting me be a part of your day. For the laughter, the energy, the quiet moments, and the crazy ones too. It was truly a privilege to capture it all.
